From dense jungles and open grasslands to ancient reservoirs and wetlands, Sri Lanka’s national parks offer remarkable biodiversity and unforgettable safari experiences. All wildlife tours are conducted with experienced local trackers, respecting conservation efforts and natural habitats.

Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife reserve and one of the best places in Asia to experience a safari. It is home to elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, and a rich variety of birdlife. Yala is particularly renowned for having one of the highest leopard densities in the world, making it a prime destination for wildlife sightings.

Wilpattu National Park is Sri Lanka’s largest and oldest national park, known for its natural lakes (known locally as villus) and untouched wilderness. Offering a quieter and more remote safari experience, Wilpattu is ideal for travellers who prefer a peaceful environment and authentic jungle atmosphere. Wildlife sightings include leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and numerous bird species.

Udawalawe National Park is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephants year-round. The park’s open grasslands and reservoirs provide excellent visibility, making it a favourite for wildlife photography. Udawalawe is also home to water buffalo, crocodiles, deer, and a wide range of birdlife.

Minneriya National Park is internationally famous for the “Gathering”, a spectacular natural event where hundreds of wild elephants come together around the Minneriya Reservoir during the dry season. This is one of the largest elephant gatherings in Asia and a truly unforgettable wildlife experience.
